Breaking News April 15, 2005 - Rome Community Committee Plans Event Daily Tribune The Rome Connection Committee will host a Taste of Rome on July 16. The event is open to everyone. One of the planned activities is a Rome flag design competition. Designs should by mailed by July 2. All designs will be studied and voted on at the Taste of Rome event by the attendees. The top five designs will be submitted to the Rome Town Board, which will select the winner. The winning artist will receive the first flag made, marked No. 1, with his or her name embroidered on it and a certificate of recognition from the board. Designs should be submitted 8 1/2 by 11 inches and include some or all of the Rome vision characteristics, including business, recreation, environment and the 2007 sesquicentennial.
