February 20, 2006 - Learn to manage media mix at business workshop

By: Wendy Haske, for the Daily Tribune

Editor's note: The Daily Tribune will regularly run columns updating Community Progress Initiative activities and the work of its groups in local communities. Caroline Casper is a recent Entrepreneurial Boot Camp participant.

What is a media mix? There are so many advertising opportunities, which do I use? Where do I start? Who are my customers?

Do you often find yourself asking these questions as you prepare to advertise your business? Is even thinking about planning your advertising enough to make your head spin?

Join me and Jill Cavanaugh of the Heart of Wisconsin Business and Economic Alliance as we present Managing your Media Mix at the Business 2 Business Club beginning at noon March 1 at the Wood County Courthouse Auditorium.

We will guide you through a process of identifying a target market, planning advertisements and evaluating effectiveness. There will be worksheets and reference materials provided, which will discuss a variety of media, explaining the advantages of each and when and why you might consider them for your media mix.

You also will have the opportunity to network with representatives of radio, broadcast television, newspaper and cable.

The Business 2 Business Club meets noon the first Wednesday of the month, at the Wood County Courthouse, with lunch provided. The program is free and open to the public.

For more information about March's presentation please call 422-4854.

Wendy Haske is a member of the Heart of Wisconsin Business and Economic Alliance.
