February 23, 2006 - Vesper develops a new way to communicate

By: Ruth Cline, for the Daily Tribune

In 2005, the Vesper Area Community Progress Initiative got off the ground. The year 2005 was very successful. The Vesper Area Community Progress Initiative worked with the community to get a Farmers Market, Tuesdays in Vesper, Family Fun Days and Celebrate Vesper Area events up and running. Those are just some of the fun and exciting community activities that were started in 2005.

This is a new year bringing exciting opportunities for all Vesper area community residents. So how do you get involved and find out what is in it for you?

Attend the "Vesper Communicates" meeting today at 6:30 p.m. at the Vesper Fire Department meeting room.

All Vesper area businesses, organizations and others are invited to have a representative at these meetings. Please plan to share your 2006 calendar of plans/events with the group. Vesper area residents with an interest in their community are encouraged to attend; this community meeting is about you!

A bit of history

Vesper Area Communicates was created for just that purpose! To communicate! It has been proven that the success of anything is communication. The group comes together about every two months to discuss/share what is being planned by each respective business, organization, etc.

In 2005, the Vesper area community worked together on our first "Celebrate Vesper Area" event. Because of excellent communication, collaboration and by coordinating all of our energies towards a common goal, our event was very successful.

The Vesper Area Community Progress Initiative works for the community; we want the community to step forward and take ownership of this new "Vesper Communicates" group as it is the working together that will help ensure the continued success of your community. In 2006, the new Lester Vesper Library will be opening. We are all very excited about that event.

The Vesper Area Community Progress Initiative has some exciting news to share with the group at today's meeting. We hope to see you at the meeting. Bring your ideas. We will be planning for 2006. For information, call me at 569-4202 or e-mail: stonegate@tznet.com

Ruth Cline is the Community Progress Initiative chairman for the Vesper area.
