Breaking News September 11, 2006 - Buy ornaments, help build future By: Rudolph Fund Committee, for the Daily Tribune This holiday season, when you think about giving to others, think about giving to your community through the purchase of the 2006 Rudolph collector's ornament. The commemorative ornament features Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer and celebrates the city of Rudolph's sesquicentennial in 2006. This keepsake holiday ornament will debut at Rudolph's sesquicentennial celebration Saturday for $10 each. But hurry, quantities are limited. You'll find them at Rudolph's Village Park, the north concession stand. Proceeds from the ornament sale will benefit the Rudolph Progress Fund. To continue building this fund, Rudolph's Progress Fund Committee will offer a different ornament design each year to add to your collection. The Rudolph Progress Fund Committee needs to extend a huge thank you to the businesses, municipalities, organizations and residents that have contributed to the $19,310 in the Rudolph Progress Fund to date. We're just shy of the $20,000 goal that will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Barker Mead Fund through the Community Foundation of South Wood County. That adds up to a $40,000 endowed fund. The Rudolph Progress Fund Committee, made up of Rudolph residents, provides grants out of the fund. Grants have been provided to support the Rudolph Business Owner's Club/Fall Kick Off, Rudolph Country Christmas, the Sesquicentennial Book and this year's sesquicentennial celebration. Bring your family to the Rudolph Sesquicentennial Celebration on Saturday and experience the small, hometown atmosphere of the community of Rudolph. You will not want to miss out on the many events that have been planned for the day such as a kickball tournament, parade, fireworks, crafts and much more. Please visit our Web site at www.progressinitiative.org/program for a schedule of events.
