Breaking News October 9, 2006 - Pittsville continues progress By: Pittsville Progress Team, for the Daily Tribune The Pittsville Area Promotions Team conducted its monthly meeting Sept. 19, discussing ongoing projects. Members reported positive community response to the Pittsville area brochure, which was created by the group and distributed in July. Copies of this free publication can be found at numerous Pittsville-area businesses. Funding for the project was made possible by the Pittsville Area Progress Fund through Community Foundation of South Wood County. Discussion followed on a proposed visitor information kiosk for our city. The team is awaiting more information from city leaders and other agencies on the future of this project. It is hoped that the kiosk will be a highly visible structure and contain promotional materials and announcements regarding area events. Work is nearly completed on a Pittsville-area Web site. Team members reviewed the site and gave suggestions on its content. Stay tuned. The Pittsville Area Promotions Team was formed in 2005 as part of the Community Progress Initiative in South Wood County. The objective of its volunteer members is to work toward making positive changes and contributions to the Pittsville area.
