January, 2007 - Entrepreneurial boot camp scores with Trzinski

From the Wisconsin Entrepreneur Network

Michael Trzinski of Port Edwards has taken his interest in writing and hockey to a successful business on the World Wide Web, operating the Wisconsin Prep Hockey website in collaboration with his partner Bill Berg. Over the past five years, they have created what they refer to as the Best Hockey Publication in Wisconsin. Their fans agree.

Operating a business is not without challenges.

Michael works 40-50 hours per week at his regular job at Erco and spends another 40-60 hours, depending on the time of the year, working on Wisconsin Prep Hockey website.

The travel time involved in attending the games is a bit of challenge as well. It's sometimes hard for him to find the time to grow his business, but he understands the importance of locating and keeping advertisers, as it is the lifeblood of the business.

This takes time away from his family, but Michael still manages to make time to attend his step-daughter Emily's hockey games and practices.

Trzinski read about the entrepreneurial Boot Camp in The Daily Tribune and decided to sign up. "The most important thing is that the Boot Camp got me fired up," he said.

"I learned that my business has lots of opportunity to become more profitable, and I also learned that I have lots of people on my side. I have gained many new contacts, including a new accountant that I happened to be classmates with during the Boot Camp."

Look for Wisconsin Prep Hockey to continue to grow as Michael would like to eventually make it a full time occupation. Take a look at this great contribution to the sport of hockey at www.wisconsinprephockey.net.
