Breaking News June 18, 2007 - Progress Team plans 3rd annual community picnic By: Heather Erickson and Lonnie Reetz, for the Daily Tribune The Biron, Grand Rapids and Wisconsin Rapids Area Community Progress Initiative Team will host the third annual community picnic at the Grand Rapids Lions Club on June 29. The picnic will run from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with entertainment for all ages. Admission is free. Children will be entertained by face painters, clowns, an inflatable slide and mini-train ride. There will a martial art performance by the Karate Kids, a dance performance by Dance with Pam and musical entertainment by the ever-popular Pam Ross and Wayne Jaworski. Food and refreshments will be available, including hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, french fries, cheese curds, soda, Dairy Queen dilly bars and a beer tent. The picnic is a great opportunity for area residents to meet with family, friends, and neighbors to enjoy a summer evening full of fun and entertainment. The goal of the annual picnic is to create an environment of excitement and community collaboration to celebrate the success of the Community Progress Initiative; together we can continue to work toward building a strong and positive community. All proceeds from the event will be used to support the communities of Biron, Grand Rapids and Wisconsin Rapids, including the Wisconsin Rapids fireworks fund.
