Breaking News November 5, 2007 - Business owners have opportunities to profit By: Melissa Lokan, for the Daily Tribune The final months of 2007 bring many opportunities for business owners to impact their bottom line. On Nov. 16, a Successful Marketing Workshop will be held at the Heart of Wisconsin Business and Economic Alliance from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. We will welcome Michelle Dalton of Digital Daisy Media. Dalton will guide participants through the marketing jungle, helping them to understand who their customers are and how to keep them coming back. The cost for this workshop is $39 for Heart of Wisconsin Members and $49 for prospective members. Business owners and managers are invited to participate in the Breakfast Club. This is a confidential place for discussion, exploration and education around critical business issues. The next meeting will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Nov. 30. Breakfast is included and there is no charge to participate. Please join the Heart of Wisconsin Business & Economic Alliance, NCWWDB, USDA, Centergy and the Community Progress Initiative at the "Getting Involved for Profit ... Central Wisconsin Business Cluster Initiative." The session will be from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at Hotel Mead. The cost is $30, including lunch. The Central Wisconsin Business Cluster Initiative will kick off with keynote speaker Connie Ireland, regional administrator for the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. The event also will include discussion of business and industry cluster strategies using a network weaving model with experts and authors June Holley, Valdis Krebs and Jack Ricchiuto. Through the exploration of network weaving, paths to profitability for businesses are discovered. Many questions will be answered at the Cluster Initiative, some that we will examine include: Are the right connections in place? Who are the innovators? Are collaborative alliances forming between local businesses? Which businesses will provide a better return on investment? Panel discussion on cluster development in our area, and time for cluster networking is also part of this Cluster Initiative Event. To join in and explore your business's path to profitability, register online for any of these programs at www.heartofwi.com or call me at 422-4856. Melissa Loken is business development specialist for Heart of Wisconsin Business & Economic Alliance. |
