Breaking News July 7, 2008 - Back to Basics: A Long Term Strategy for Inner Wisconsin By: Melissa Loken, for the Daily Tribune You are invited to a very important breakfast meeting on July 23rd, 2008 at 7:00 am at Bull’s Eye Country Club in Wisconsin Rapids. Praxis Strategy Group will be presenting a look at emerging opportunities in e-commerce initiatives within the region. Following this enlightening presentation Joel Kotkin will share a review of trends impacting the region. Kotkin is a visionary and futurist on a state and urban level, as well as an internationally-recognized authority on global, economic, political and social trends. Joel is the author of the critically acclaimed books, The City: A Global History; The New Geography, How the Digital Revolution is Reshaping the American Landscape; and Tribes: How Race, Religion and Identity Determine Success In the New Global Economy. A widely published journalist, Joel wrote the monthly "Grass Roots Business" column in The New York Times' Sunday Business section for several years. His work also appears in The Wall Street Journal. This event is being held as follow up to the Telecommunications Study that was done by North Star Economics identifying Inner Wisconsin as having a “Robust Telecommunications Infrastructure.” Praxis Strategy Group has used information from that report as well as interviews with community members and business leaders to formulate action items to capitalize on our competitive advantage. The information provided at the breakfast will serve as a catalyst for Industry Cluster activities within the Community Progress Initiative. It will also give those people contemplating new business start-up critical information regarding where opportunities exist in the Inner Wisconsin area. To register for the breakfast please go to www.heartofwi.com. The cost is only $15.00 and begins at 7:00 am. If you have any questions about this event or would like more information please contact 715.423.1830. |
