Letter to the Editor

To this observer, the Community Progress Initiative events held recently were encouraging and inspiring. Dozens of dedicated citizens presented not only their dreams for our community, but also made those necessary first steps to take us into their optimistic vision for the future.

Having read about the "industry cluster groups" in the Daily Tribune's extensive coverage, I was intrigued by this new grass roots effort. What I found was a dynamic gathering of leaders (ranging from high school students all the way up to the mayor) willing to find the positives in our community and eager to build on them in the spirit of cooperation.

But clearly, the work and the opportunities to contribute are just beginning. I found the organization and the individuals to be welcoming to new faces and ideas, and I encourage more members of our community to contact the Heart of Wisconsin Business & Economic Alliance or the Community Foundation of South Wood County and to find out how you can participate in this exciting movement.
